Small village north of the Maderas volcano, crossed by a dirt road. The population is much more rural than on the Concepción side of the volcano. As a result, the atmosphere here is calm and time seems to pass at a leisurely pace. From Moyogalpa, it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to get there by bus; 1 hour from Altagracia. There are usually three departures in the morning, and three in the afternoon. Please note that the bus line serving Balgüe is not the same as the one serving Merida! It's from Balgüe that you can access the Maderas volcano national park. The more adventurous can even attempt the difficult ascent...
