The small road to Eide leads to Homborsund, the place where Henrik Ibsen set his long epic poem Terje Viken, the story of the sailor who rowed across the Skagerrak Sea to bring Danish wheat to his child and young wife. The story takes place at the time of the blockade imposed by the English during the Napoleonic wars when the Danish-Norwegian kingdom sided with France. Terje Viken's grave is located in front of the sea, on a rock beaten by the waves. Homborsund is also a village that includes 2 protected areas: Kalvehageneset and Hoveneset. A craft brewery was established in the village in 2017
