This small town is concentrated around the falls of the eponymous river, the source of its development with the exploitation of the region's forests. In the 17th century, there were already 23 sawmills here, most of them owned by Oslo burghers.From the outskirts of Oslo, the road leads through the "Valley of the Engineers", Norway's version of Silicon Valley. After some 50 km across rich plains along the shores of Lake Tyrifjord, you arrive in the homeland of Asbjørnsen and Moe, the fathers of Norwegian fairy tales and legends, with the enchanted villa Friedheim, set on Lake Krødern, and the bear valley of Vassfaret.
