Drøbak is an ancient town on the Oslo Fjord, halfway between Oslo and Moss. With its 15,000 inhabitants, it would be a quiet, uninteresting town if it didn't have three major assets: a breathtaking view over the Oslo Fjord, a historic fortress and, last but not least, the home of the Norwegian Santa Claus. However, it's in summer that Drøbak is at its liveliest, because as soon as the sun comes out, the sleeping beauty wakes up and becomes almost a seaside resort. For some, Drøbak is actually a hidden gem! With its Sunday market, artists' studios and friendly restaurants, it's a great place to spend a day.
