Seljord is one of Telemark's most beautiful villages. Imagine the snow-covered peaks of Skove and Lifjell, white birch trees with soft green leaves, all reflected in the waters of the Seljordsvatnet lake, bordered by beaches, plains, gentle hills and high mountains.Every year, Seljord hosts a livestock fair, the Dyrsku'n market. This agricultural fair, Norway's largest, begins on the second Friday in September. In addition to animals, beautifully crafted knives, clocks and all manner of antiques are sold, amid a din of Hardanger fiddles and mooing cattle.
