The 600 or so inhabitants of this village practice self-subsistence agriculture - rice and market gardening -, gathering, hunting and fishing. Additional income comes from the making and selling of bamboo basketry (used to hold rice). The region of Ban Na is interesting because the natural sites are remarkable. To get to Ban Na, it is easiest to go through the tourist office in Vientiane. Take road #13 south to Phabath village and turn left at the temple and continue for 1km. Any bus heading south can drop you off at this junction.
