Sankt Johann is a lively little town at the eastern end of the Tyrol and is particularly popular in winter because of its excellent location close to the downhill and cross-country ski runs. The pedestrianised town centre offers a few sights. The parish church has a two-tower façade. Its St. Anthony's chapel has an octagonal baroque hall. The old hospital and its church dedicated to St. Nicholas date from 1262. The church has the only perfectly preserved Gothic stained glass window in Tyrol. The interior decoration comes from Salzburg. In the Anna Chapel, the wood carvings from 1530 depict St. Heinrich and St. Kunigunde.
