Goldegg am See, on the shores of a small lake as its name suggests, is situated on the sunny terrace of the Salzburg region. It is both a small winter sports resort with about 2,200 inhabitants and a popular summer resort for mountaineers and golfers. You can visit its castle, an ancient fortress built in 1322, then transformed into a dwelling in the 16th century. The interior has many Renaissance elements. There is a museum dedicated to rural and popular regional traditions. Three hotels, inns and guesthouses welcome you.
