Tatranská Lomnica is the quietest and most beautiful resort in the High Tatras. Lost in the middle of tall pine trees, it is very busy in winter, but it has still managed to retain its charm with its old buildings built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The recent hotel complexes blend in quite well with the landscape. Tatranská Lomnica also has the advantage of a cable car that takes you to the top of Lomnický Štít, the second highest peak in Slovakia at 2,632 m, for a coffee with a breathtaking view. The main ski area is located on the slopes of Lomnický Štít.
