Villa Amalia, a grand neoclassical building beautifully located, is frequented by artists and poets. The surroundings of Erba are constellés of lakes: to Come, the lake of Montorfano, a large circular pond bordered largely by a golf course. Towards Lecco, the lakes of Alserio, De, Oggiono. In the vicinity of Erba, in Civate, the basilica of San Pietro al Monte is reached by an ascent. You can only reach it on foot, by a steep climbing trail, in about 30 minutes. It is an extensive construction of the th century. From there, we have a wide view over the whole plain. In the basilica, beautiful frescoes illustrate the Revelation.
