The former imperial county, Lomello, which gave its name to the Lomellina, preserved this period of splendour only its castle, the baptistery of the church of Saint John at the Fountains (th century) and the church of Santa Maria Maggiore (th century). The baptistery maintains a hexagonal cauldron for baptism that according to the custom of the time was done by immersion.
