From Pietrabbondante, the road walks through beautiful mountain landscapes. The town in a valley, where it appears to have fallen into a meteor filled with green trees, has a small medieval centre of character. It houses the castle of the Dukes D'Alessandro; this Neapolitan family reigned for a long time on the region. Today, it still has a floor of this castle, which is said to have 365 rooms. One of the family members considered a saint in the village is mummified and occupies a castle room. Located on a rocky outcrop that would seem to be released from land to shelter the home, it is impressive.
