An hour south of Chieti, Lama dei Peligni is a mountain village that is also a base for discovering the Majella Park. Pure air, some typical stone houses and a rather rural setting. All around, the nature is to be explored: natural reserve, caves with beautiful concretions, among which the famous Grotta del Cavallone at 1,475 m of altitude. On the many possibilities of walks in the surroundings, you will find an explanatory panel at the intersection with the road to the cave, about 3 km from the village. You may be able to catch the (almost) aerial evolutions of the Abruzzo chamois with binoculars.
