We then descend quietly onto Roccaraso, a famous mountain resort. The landscape is noticeably enlarged in a very large plateau, kind of altitude pampa that takes place to the valley of Rio la Vera. At 1,200 m, it is surprising to cross the railway, which is not, as one might think, disaffected, but is the regular line between Sulmona and Roccaraso.
