At the end of the small and very steep mountain road that leaves Novalesa and passes behind the abbey, you reach the charming village of Moncenisio (1,465 m), clustered around its stream and its old stone houses. You can leave your car at the entrance to the village and wander through the narrow streets. You can leave the village by the Col du Mont-Cenis road, less tortuous and faster, which leads to the Maurienne valley (France). For the record, Moncenisio is the third least populated commune in Italy, with 37 inhabitants in 2020. There are two small alpine lakes and the Terre al Confine eco-museum, dedicated to mountain professions.
