At the gateway to the marshes of the Dives, Putot-en Auge is one of our favorites. Its church, with its 12th century choir, is a witness of the Romanesque architecture in the Pays d'Auge. Its remarkable bell tower is covered with chestnut cladding. A true masterpiece, the neighboring manor house (private) built at the end of the 18th century is also classified as a historical monument. A stud farm since 1955, the 17th century Saint-Germain house covers 200 hectares. One can bow down on the grave of the 32 British soldiers of the 6th Airborne Division, fallen during the battle of Putot-en-Auge and buried at the foot of the church.
