It is said that Brucourt is a paradise of calm and meditation! Everything is there to perfect and confirm this rural and monastic vocation. As if time had no grip on its peaceful image, preserved beyond centuries. The village is dominated by Bassebourg Hill, one of the highest places forming the plateau of the country of Auge (altitude 129 m), at the foot of the cuesta (coast relief) of the Dives. Crossed by the Anchor and the Dives, it presents a landscape of marshes that constitute two-thirds of its territory to the scattered habitat of the augeron. You can stroll there quietly to discover the church Saint-Vigor of the twelfth and eighteenth centuries. By the way, you can also pay tribute to the six English soldiers killed on June 6, 1944, who rest in the cemetery of the village. Not far from the church, the source of the Star or Fountain of Dives, whose ferruginous water attracted much of the thirst in the nineteenth century, remained, for all this time, untapped.
