Devenish is one of the most interesting islands in the region, located 3 km downstream of Enniskillen. In the Middle Ages, there was a whole string of monasteries installed on the waters of the lake. A round tower from the 12th century still stands here, in perfect condition, as well as the ruins of an Augustinian abbey and a 15th century carved cross.
