The small village spreads out on the seashore, away from the tourist frenzy of Montego Bay. The beach is a small strip of white sand off which the rusty carcass of a large ship, battered by a violent storm at the end of the last century, is decomposing, making swimming unsafe. The village is famous for its luxury resort, Round Hill. Hopewell has a typical and colorful fruit and vegetable market along the main road with a cute church perched over the road. A variety of beachside restaurants and taverns await the many visitors on Sundays.
