Still following the A 1 direction Negril, we find this small fishing village whose pride is to have been a retirement for former slaves in the wake of emancipation. Created by Reverend Thomas Burchell, he was one of the first free villages on the island. A small church of the th century is the only building dating back to that period. The beach, with its evocative and appealing name, is a possible stop. A hotel-restaurant-dancing, Lollypop on the Beach, offers rooms and jerk cuisine. The Ocean Edge Club, a bit dancing, is very frequented by Jamaican on weekends.
