Vœllerdingen was first mentioned in 1128. It belonged to the county of Sarrewerden, then to the Nassau-Weilburg (1745-1793). In the past, there was a village called Heimeldingen in the northern part of the municipality, which was destroyed and disappeared between 1345 and 1513. Today, there is a resting place on the road D 237 at the limit of the communal ban of Sarre-Union, a protestant church (of the church of the 14th or 15th century, only the old porch tower remains; in 1841, the nave was rebuilt between the tower and the original choir, then bombed in 1944), and the Pilâtre de Rozier monument on the hill of Bœtzel, place of his balloon accident.
