This small village overlooking the Pèlerins Islands offers one of the finest views of the river. Saint-André specializes in eel fishing, which is caught with weir nets at low tide. This authochthonous technique, two centuries old, is still used today, although it is tending to disappear in favor of net fishing. Don't miss: the oldest church in the Lower St. Lawrence (1806), listed as a historic monument, and the small lighthouse in Parc de l'Ancien-Quai. Taste: fresh produce, processed products and specialties from Jardin des Pèlerins, including organic herbal salt, the best in the world!
