L'Isle-Verte is a municipality of nearly 1,500 inhabitants along the river. Opposite is Île Verte. Unlike the other islands in the region, this one is inhabited year-round (about 60 people). It is accessible by ferry or water taxi from Isle-Verte, depending on the tides, and exceptionally on foot, once a summer during the "Sentier de la bouette" activity, as well as in winter, by torchlight. In winter, an ice bridge, accessible by snowmobile, links the island to the coast. Birdwatching, hiking and cycling enthusiasts will be delighted by the beauty of the island's landscapes.
