Today, Chiu-Chiu is only a small village of 330 inhabitants that has kept its charm intact. Its San Francisco church is one of the most beautiful in Chile. The portal of the church, made of cactus planks connected by leather straps, is a work of goldsmith. The adobe walls are 1.20 m thick. The interior is sumptuous, with a Passion of Christ painted on both sides, which is carried in religious processions. Next to the church, a bristling turret offers an even more magnificent view of the whole building. In the village, you can eat at the Café Tambo, in Calle Esmeralda.
