To the east and the cordillera, we first follow the Río Río to Alto del Carmen, a small town that boasts a beautiful church in Adobe. You can make a jump to Casona de Huasco Alto on Padre Alonso García street, on Saturdays and Sundays only, to drink a pajarete. You can stay in green at Crucesita Campground. 15 sites to plant your tent. Count $ 12 000 for four. Swimming pool, showers, health. The Residencial Mesón del Valle (Padro Alonso n/n) requires $ 5 000 per person. Then you enter the valley itself, on an asphalt road up to the village of San Felix, about 64 km from Vallenar. It is a good base for a couple of days. Very little attendance. You can sleep at La Fortuna or at the Residencial San Felix. The village also hosts the artisanal company Horcón Quemado, which produces a very good pisco (one of Chile's best). We will probably be surprised to see you, but content (hopefully). Open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm and from 13 pm to 17 pm. Several buses go to San Felix from Vallenar, at regular intervals.
