Bypassing the fishpond via the popular Quartier d'Orléans, the Coralita road leads to the other side of Baie de l'Embouchure. This is where Lucas Bay begins, and it's a lovely place to stop, admire the view (whale observatory) and enjoy the spray. You can venture out into the water with your feet up to the small wild islets (with shoes). Then on to Oyster Pond, whose marina and waters are crossed by the border (officially drawn on May 26, 2023). Highly exposed to the winds, the area was devastated by Irma and is slowly being rebuilt. But you'll be charmed by its end-of-the-world feel.
