According to legend, it was after trying to conquer the island of Saba that a buccaneer, Captain Pinel, discovered this marine refuge. Faced with the resistance of the island's inhabitants, the invaders retreated, until they ran aground on the magnificent islet in the bay of Cul-de-Sac, which has since borne his name. It's now a favorite spot for locals, and it's easy to see why: transparent water, a strip of white sand - the perfect change of scenery! Bring your mask and snorkel, and feel free to stroll around the islet. Restaurants offer grilled meats and deckchairs lined up along the beach.
