Between the valleys of Jerte and Vera, this lovely village has kept its authenticity and its charming little squares. The most beautiful is undoubtedly the Plaza de Don Juan de Austria, surrounded by arcades and half-timbered houses from the 16th century, which takes its name from the house where the illegitimate son of the most illustrious person in Spanish history lived. Don Juan used to visit his father, Charles V, regularly in the beautiful monastery of Yuste. From the monastery, , it is not long to reach Garganta de la Olla, a beautiful mountain village where a stop is recommended to admire the monumental complex.
