Close to the municipality of El Pinar, this magnificent pine forest is the ideal place to camp and enjoy the wilderness of El Hierro. There are numerous picnic areas along the road leading to it, with a football pitch and playgrounds. You will surely notice the gigantic map of El Hierro, the southernmost in Europe, made of logs. It is there to mark the history and the spirits about the fire that took place here in 2006, and also to demonstrate the harshness of life, with its trunks of Canarian pine blackened by the flames, but standing upright. This place is also a starting point for many hikes, as many paths cross here.
