The castle of Peña Bermeja, built by the Arabs, enlarged by the Christians and converted into a fortress palace by the feudal lords, the Real Fabrica Paños, a strange circular building, and the Plaza Mayor are the key points of a visit. It is here that the oldest bullfights in Spain take place, which follow a route through the valleys and ravines surrounding the town. The town also has stately homes and buildings of traditional Alcarria architecture, houses with porticos, such as those in the Plaza del Coso, which houses the public prison from the time of Charles III.
