Agia Galini is located at the very end of the main road that connects Rethymnon to its southern coast. At the eastern and southern end of the prefecture, we are here about 25 km from Spili and just over an hour's drive from Rethymnon. Wedged between two mountains and built in a staircase on the Libyan Sea, this small port has, from the outset, everything to please so much the site is enchanting. Even if the small seaside resort has developed strongly to meet the growing demand of tour operators, Agia Galini has preserved its narrow streets and the look of a small village. Today there are a number of shops, restaurants, guesthouses, mini-markets and bars, but Agia Galini retains a certain old-fashioned charm, especially out of season. Maybe because the inhabitants have kept this authentic sense of welcome and conviviality. To the east of the village, a small cemented path along the rock leads to the beach. In the morning, from 7 am, the locals are used to meet there for the first bath of the day! Then it's time for tourists and deckchairs.
