This tiny village wedged between the pond of Cabras and that of Mistras is a bit unusual. It was refurbished in 1965 in a Mexican style for the needs of spaghetti westerns. The immediate vicinity of the village resembles the Arizona desert. The village is inhabited a few days a year in September for the Barefoot Race. On the road to Tharros is the sanctuary of San Salvatore. It was built in the 4th century by the Romans on a sacred well from the Nuraghic period, dedicated to the cult of water, and later used by the Carthaginians and Romans for the celebration of their cults.
