At the extreme north of the island, on the shores of the La Maddalena archipelago, Santa Teresa Gallura is a charming seaside resort that has managed to preserve its naturalness and a certain tranquility. The town is ideally situated between the Costa Smeralda and the Costa Paradiso. We fell in love with it. Its authenticity is all the more striking when you arrive from the east. Popular with locals, it has a warm atmosphere and is surrounded by beautiful natural sites. The large central square comes alive at the end of the day, when the town center is pedestrianized every evening for ice-cream parlors, restaurants and boutiques. The pretty beach of Rena Bianca is lapped by clear turquoise waters. Finally, the seafront promenade, winding between cliffs and granite boulders and skirting the Spanish towers, is a thing of beauty. The surrounding coves to the west and east are paradise-like, with a Breton granite coast feel... not to mention Capo Testa, the pearl of the north coast! The limestone cliffs of Bonifacio close off the northern horizon. Santa Teresa Gallura is the port of entry for tourists from Corsica. The crossing takes just 40 minutes, and it's perfectly possible to wander the streets of Bonifacio and return in the evening.
