For those who prefer the calm and authenticity of the inland villages, head for Theologos, the ancient capital of Thassos. Beautiful and quiet, it is one of the oldest villages of the island: it is accessible by road only from the seaside resort of Potos. So leave the coast and reach the village by a beautiful country road. Here you can admire the old stone and slate houses, the archontikos, and the beautiful church of Aghia Paraskevis. A small folklore museum describes the traditional activities of Theologos (open in summer 10am-10pm - 3 €) while a cool, bucolic waterfall flows at the edge of the village.
