24 km west of Myrtos (or 38 km west of Ierapetra), this village of 1,000 inhabitants is located inside the land and is a pleasant place to stop or spend one night. Especially when the heat is unbearable on the coast, the relative freshness of the place is welcome. The historic old town has lost its importance since the tourist development of the coastal villages. A beautiful view is good from the top of the village on the coast. We can visit the small church of Agia Pelagia dating back to the XIV century and the folk museum (open every day from April to October except Saturdays from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m.) with clothing, musical instruments and tools of daily life.
