With a little less than 1,500 inhabitants, Tzermiado is the most important village of the Lassithi plateau, even if it is not the most beautiful. Its physiognomy is basic: a square and a main street with stores selling embroideries and other handicrafts (generally of average quality), which you are likely to find at lower prices in the other villages. In any case, don't hesitate to bargain and resist the first offer. On site, kafeneia, tavernas and a few options to spend the night or take a break during the day.
