Stalida used to be a large village between Hersonissos and Malia, but it too has been overtaken by the tourist boom! Hotels and bars-restaurants are springing up like mushrooms. On the beach, you can rent kayaks with glass bottom to admire the fish. Agencies offer cruises or excursions on the Lassithi plateau or in the Samaria Gorge. Nice walk on the pier.Buses are very frequent from Heraklion (bus station A): they run every day, every 15 to 30 minutes, between 6 am and midnight (Heraklion-Malia axis). Please note that there are fewer buses on Sundays and during the winter.
