Travel Guide Limenaria

At the southern tip of Thassos, the 3.5 km stretch between the seaside resorts of Limenaria and Potos is unattractive. The holidaymakers find themselves on long sandy beaches equipped with deckchairs and umbrellas. The whole area is a bit run down, despite the old-fashioned charm of Pefkari, halfway down the road. Along the coastline, there are many hotels, as well as taverns without much interest. However, it is worth noting the beautiful beach of Metalia towards Limenaria, topped by an intriguing building, the Palataki or small palace: the former administrative offices of a German mining company that came to exploit an industrial site, now abandoned, have been standing there since 1900.
