The last village in Greece, Aghios Germanos turns its back on the mountain to face the lakes of Prespa. Today it is a favourite starting point for hikes and has only a hundred inhabitants. It was once a very prosperous village and this can be seen from the imposing buildings that make it up. The main activity of the villagers today is the cultivation of beans which are reputed to be the best in the country. The church of St. Germain (Aghios Germanos) is worth seeing. Leave Aghios Germanos and head for several nearby villages where you will find some of the beautiful churches of the area. In the first one, Laimos, take a look at its Basilica of St. Paraskévi.
