In this mountainous region, Krka National Park is the second most visited national park in Croatia - after Plitvice Lakes - and one of the country's most beautiful nature reserves, with a series of lakes, waterfalls and islets born of the majestic river. With hundreds of thousands of visitors a year, the park is very popular in summer. Many tourists visit during the day, but to get the most out of this vast territory (109 km2) and discover the diversity of its landscapes and cultural heritage, it's best to plan a few days' stay. Buying a ticket for all the entrances, valid for 7 days, is a good option, because even if you have your own vehicle, you won't be able to do it all in one day. You can sleep in all the towns around the park (Skradin, Knin, Drniš, Lozovac, Razvode). Best seasons? Spring and autumn, to avoid the crowds.
