Una National Park (Nacionalni Park Una/Национални Парк Уна) covers 198 km2 and 60 km from north to south along Croatia. It is almost entirely located in the municipality of Bihać. Only the southern tip of the park belongs to the municipality of Drvar (Tropolje). The main village of the park is Kulen Vakuf, 40 km southeast of Bihać and 42 km northwest of Drvar. The park is served by buses between Kulen Vakuf and Bihać with stops in Ripač, Gorjevac, Dubovsko, Ćukovi, Orašac and Rajinovci: 6 connections/day on weekdays, 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.Established in 2008, it is perhaps the most majestic of the four national parks in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is in any case the most pleasant to go through, whether on foot, by mountain bike, by car and, even better, by rafting or kayaking. This protected natural area is built around the Una River (212 km long) and its tributaries the Unac (66 km) and the Krka (6 km). Dominated by Mount Ljutoč (1,168 m above sea level), the three large valleys of Martin Brod, Kulen Vakuf and Lohovo are home to complex ecosystems and a rich fauna: 30 species of fish, 130 species of birds, lynx, foxes, wolves, bears, chamois, etc. The park also includes a canyon below Martin Brod, a lake in the south and beautiful waterfalls, the most beautiful of which are those of Štrbački Buk. Very sparsely populated, but largely open to tourist activities, the park is subject to fairly strict rules and most of its accesses are paid.
