Small village with around 250 inhabitants, 2-3 km west of Podčetrtek. Olimja is mainly known for its thermal waters. The medicinal properties of Olimja's thermal water have been proven throughout the decades. It definitely has a therapeutic effect on our health. First mentioned in 1208, the village is home to a magnificent Renaissance-style castle that still serves as a Franciscan monastery. Sights to discover in the village center include the old pharmacy, one of the oldest in Europe, the landscaped gardens and the renowned chocolate factory.
