In the west of Zagorje, 45 km from Zagreb, the village was the birthplace of Josip Broz Tito in 1892. A museum dedicated to the marshal has been installed in his birthplace. Another attraction is the Musej Staro selo, which includes an ethnovillage with rural houses (19th-early 20th century) as well as exhibition halls for learning more about Croatian peasant life. At the entrance to the ethnomuseum there is a small tourist information office (Op Ina Kumrovec). You can also get information from the town hall. Kumrovec is located on the Slovenian border. For all these reasons, the place is well worth a stop.
