Day 1: Arrival in Zagreb
Rent a car for the next morning. In the main square (Trg bana Jelacica), visit the tourist office to request detailed maps and booklets of discoveries/routes (Zagreb and its surroundings), find out about accommodation options in Zagorje. Locate the only skyscraper in the centre, climb to the top floor for a 360-degree view of the old and modern city and beyond. A panoramic lounge bar awaits you (Zagreb Eye). Then walks in the historic districts of Kaptol and Gradec (green walks, museums, churches, baroque palaces, medieval streets). Dinner in one of the restaurants in the city centre.

Day 2: Direction Krapina
Steps: Krapina, Trakošćan, Pregrada, Marija Bistrica
Not to be missed in this baroque city is the church of St. Mary of Jerusalem (1750), an important pilgrimage site in Zagorje. A short tour to the romantic castle of Trakoscan and the villages of Pregrada, Vinagora, Marija Bistrica, Mijana Castle.
Day 3: Day in Varaždin
Rich baroque heritage, architecture and sculpture, beautifully restored. Attend a concert of ancient music in the cathedral or in one of its beautiful palaces. Please contact the tourist office.
Day 4: Veliki Tabor Hill
Steps: Desinić, Zagreb, Kumrovec, Klanjec
The silhouette of the imposing castle is already apparent. A must see! On the way back to Zagreb, a detour to the village museum of Kumrovec, the village of Klanjec and the lower town. Arrival in Zagreb at the end of the day.
