Between Zagreb and Varaždin, the region of Hrvatsko Zagorje is particularly romantic. The presence of castles that emerge from forest massifs, interspersed with clearings and vineyards, adds to the picturesqueness. There are more than forty of them, including the most prestigious, those of Veliki Tabor, Trakošćan or Miljana. Pregrada is in the county of Krapina-Zagorje, which leaves it with the Zagorje Cathedral or the castle of Veliki Tabor, nearby.
