Population around 800. Neither Vichy nor Vittel. Dolenjske Toplice is just a village, yet it can boast the oldest spa in the country. Situated in the Sušica valley, on the edge of the Kočevski Rog mountain range, Dolenjske Toplice's main activity is spa tourism, although hunting, fishing and winter sports are not excluded.The area is mentioned for the quality of its waters as early as the 13th century. In 1658, Count Johann Weichard de Turjak commissioned the construction of the "Count's Bath", the first indoor bath with a doctor. Since 1973, the two large hotels and the baths have belonged to the Krka pharmaceutical company.
