Population approx. 5,500. The town is situated on a promontory. Below, the Dobličica and Lahinja rivers meander, join and mingle to form the single Lahinja, which flows some ten kilometers further north into the Kropa. Up until the middle of the century, the town's main activity was agriculture. After 1945, the agri-food, textile and wood industries began to develop. The town played an important role in the aftermath of the Second World War. The Conseil de Libération Nationale (National Liberation Council) was based here. So much for history. Today, this small town with a rich past, which was once a strategic location, has no must-see sites.
