Two coves, a pine forest, clear water and perfect peace and quiet. A dozen kilometers from Cuitadella, Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta are two heavenly coves of pure beauty. To reach them, hikers should take the path from Cala Galdana (a 30-45 minute walk via Camí de Cavalls). Otherwise, the route is well signposted from Ciutadella. There's a parking lot on site (it's closed in high season, but there's a bus service from Cuitadella). From here, it's only a 15-minute walk to the first beach. The big drawback: both are crowded in summer.
