Surrounded by fertile farmland, Sant Llorenç de Balafià is a small, curious and emblematic fortified village, with a defensive tower erected in the middle of the houses. As in the vast majority of the island's villages, this small town grew up around its church (18th century), which is characterised by its single entrance arch. The interpretation centre of the protected natural area of Es Amunts can be found here, as well as a number of nice establishments such as La Paloma, Es Pins, Can Casanova and the luxurious and rustic Atzaró complex. The silhouette of the village is on every postcard.
