Its old historical center, organized around the Martí square and declared a national monument, fits in a handkerchief. In 2015, the pretty city celebrated its 500th anniversary and most of the monuments and buildings in the old center were restored and repainted for the occasion. Less invaded by tourists than Trinidad, it is really a beautiful colonial city where the tranquility and the sweetness of life will delight you and where the interesting sites are relatively numerous for a small city.
